Last week a great toy company sent us some Moon Dough and ever since P has been bursting to play with it. Normally our Monkeys Doodles posts are activities or crafts which my little ones have thought of and made at home rather than a product review but this weekend P has only wanted to play with her moon dough so here it is. Setup was quick and easy and we had the bar ready for play within minutes and then we were ready to tear open those bags of dough.

when we first opened it up, the dough was crumbled into bits and pieces and didn’t seem like it was going to be possible to create much of anything. The moon dough has a strange foamy texture to it and its very light weight which I thought help P to mould it the way she wanted. The set we were given came with animal moulds and wind up feet which were pushed into place using the Moon Dough stand. P found loved watching the animals pop out of the moulds once she had worked out not to over stuff the cases. After an hour or so making up her zoo P changed the colour of the animals then of course as every child does she mixed the colours to make rainbow animals.I must say that I made sure that the table was covered by a large coth and gave her plenty of room in hope that the dough would not go on the carpet but of course some of it did and I managed to hoover it up fine as Moon dough does not stick in the carpet. The Dough moulds together with ease and never dries out or goes sticky so the clearing up part was a breeze. This week we will be getting the moon dough out again to see how good it is with play dough tools and cutters.
If you would like to try it out pop by your local sainsburys, The Entertainer or Amazon online with prices starting from £10.00.
